Judging the Judiciary: Ferhat Tepe kidnapped killed and access ban

Bitlis reporter of the Gundem Journal, Ferhat Tepe was kidnapped and killed in 28 July 1993. The file was closed due to limitation of acuses. The ECHR and the Turkish Constitutional Court has declared the file was not investigated efficiently, however the murder remains unsolved. In 2019, news about the Tatvan Brigade Commander, Korkmaz Tağma has requested an access ban on the news concerning the incident. Commander Korkmaz Tağma had threatened Ferhat Tepe prior his murder.  It is clear that access bans have become a new tool for impunity. The extent of access bans, including ECHR decisions and Turkish Parliament minutes, have also been clearly displayed in this case.
