Ankara Regional 12th Administrative Court revoked the indefinite LGBTI+ event ban declared by Ankara Governorate in November 2017 based on the Law of State of Emergency. The decision was made following the appeal application of Kaos GL Association. The Regional Administrative Court stated that the ban declared during the State of Emergency is unlimited in terms of duration and that there is no restriction and certainty in the quality of banned events. The Court indicated that in case there is a threat present regarding events, security measures need to be taken instead of banning events and decided that the event ban is not in accordance with the law.
